I’m the daughter of a covert narcissistic mother.
For most of my life, I didn’t fully understand the impact that had on me.
After my mother died in 2021, I went searching for answers to why she abused me and why she was the way she was.

In 2020, I moved back into my parents’ home to become their caregiver during the height of the covid pandemic. At the time, I did not yet realize my mother was a narcissist because I gaslit myself for 53 years into believing the abuse wasn’t real!
Living under her roof again as her abuse intensified with age became the undeniable turning point. What I experienced during that caregiving period was sadistic in ways I could no longer explain away or ignore.
