She Asked Why and Talking to the Light are written from my personal experience as a daughter of a mean, sadistic, narcissistic mother and a she/her voice. AI transparency: I used AI to assist with my antiquated writing. Turns out the writing I learned in 10th grade honors English back in 1983 is outdated (old Mrs. Otey would be disappointed). I used AI to help me through writing the sections of Talking to the Light that were too difficult to write because of intense emotion (writing through tears is challenging, to say the least), then I rewrote what was generated by ChatGPT into my own voice. The voice and story are mine.
